O mi god this is tiki taka
When it comes to “overcooked” and overdone, overlong etc. I think I have a perfect answer. Barcelona’s football is like an orchestra, and orchestral music is not liked by everyone, because it has sometimes a slower build-up. Brazil’s football is, well… Samba. Their rhythm is the most immediately pleasing. The way current Barcelona plays I find unique and extremely satisfying, but people have different tastes.
@speedgun00
Well these things are of course a matter of taste. In terms of skill and pure improvisation, Brazil is the pinnacle. But Brazil has never blended work ethic with technique the way current Barcelona does. What is different is that Brazil concentrates its forces on attack, Barcelona on midfield. Barcelona tries to embed the penalty area into the midfield, so to speak. The Invincible were a perfect blend of passing football with english virtues. I never liked Utd’s football at all.
@speedgun00
Well, normally a 1:0-lead is no reason for Barca to switch off, it’s true they were somehow unsettled by Arsenal, whatever it was, they stopped biting but rather wanted to keep the ball for the rest of the game, that’s when mistakes happen in a game like that. And obviously they were afraid of counterattacks. What’s important is that Barca this season did not face an attacking force like Arsenal’s, they maybe never did under Pep, because alongside Barca’s they have the best.
@DonFarshido anyway barcelona will win second leg lol.
Thiers just something about barcelona’s style now that seems too over cooked. Like i said its very effective to over do it and pass it around and leave the other team chasing, but it just starts to irritate some after a little while. Tiki taka just seems too mechanical sorry
It just feels so much more different from watching a brazil, or an old arsenal or man utd side. Nothing comes close to the art of brazil’s brand of football.
@DonFarshido but from seeming so self assured in the first half, arsenal took over in the second half. With the score only being 1-0, I don’t believe barcelona would be stupid enough to take thier gas off the pedal, so you could only put it down to tiredness or arsenal pressing much more. When you use the word “complacency”, you’re still hanging onto the belief that Barca switched off thinking they were safe rather than admitting hands down that arsenal began to outplay and out press them.
this video last 5:0 seconds
@speedgun00
It’s about using every inch of the space there is in the football field. And using all 11 footballers. Barcelona’s football can seem mannerist at times when other teams park the bus, but everything sometimes has its price. The beauty of it is that it’s something which is always in movement, always in creation, always in renewal. British football is like a fight, south-american or total football is more like music, it’s unforced. You take your pick.
@speedgun00
The truth is never one-sided, It was not only Barcelona’s complacency but also Arsenal’s class, no doubt about it. But being tired against a more physical premiership side is bullshit. Barcelona’s away form in europe has always not been the best, every team, however good it is, has a weakness. Barcelona played against a way more physical Premiership side in Manchester United in a Champion’s League final and dominated. And btw, no EPL-side runs more km. than Barca does.
@DonFarshido everyone keeps saying how barcelona took the gas off the pedal after 60 mins and how pep guardiola made a big mistake by taking off david villa.
But no one is considering the fact that barcelona got tired from playin the high intensity and therefore couldnt keep it up after 60 mins against a more energetic physical premiership side. Pep took villa off coz arsenal were more dangerous in 2nd half so pep needed more defensive cover.
but barca were unlucky though with linesman etc
i mean consider 0:19 – 0:20 .. I’ve never heard such a large roar for a pass going back to a keeper lol .. and then between 0:26 – 0:50 the cheers again get louder when the ball is moving backwards lol. Then as the passes are moving backwards and sidewards the commentators keep having orgasms over how the other team are chasing shadows lol. What the hell can the opposition do if nothing is really happening with the passing??
so like i said its effective but just not my cup of tea sorry
@dawatcher88 Like i said, its very effective but to me its boring because for 70 minutes of the game, the ball is being passed sidewards and backwards. That’s why I can’t stand to watch a barcelona game anymore – it just irritates me lol. The first 3 minutes of this video is what i am referring to.
Tiki taka is definately a very good formula for winning though and i guess its better than the ultra defensive formula like Italy or jose’s chelsea.
Real Madrid should just play the English Style: “Hoof it up and hope”
@speedgun00 How can you say that? England are like that and they are falling behind the likes of Tikka Takka Spain. However, now they got Wilshere…
breathtaking.
the first set of passing is just plain beautiful
five star performance
@SamiZaatari
The game was rather equal all in all between two fantastic sides but Barca were superior. Arsenal had three great chances in the beginning (one of them statistically not even a shot, let alone a shot on target), but everything since then until RVP’s goal were rather desperate attempts. The shots on target don’t mean anything. Arsenal looked rather harmless and that’s where Barca became stupid. For about 60 min. Barca was dominating and lacking the finishing touch/ linesman’s brain.
